New energy vehicle motor, automotive core components

The motor system of new-energy vehicles mainly consists of two parts: electric motors and inverters. Although these two parts, like most other auto parts, are under pressure of price reduction for a long time, the industry as a whole still has a large room for growth due to the increase of the total number of new-energy vehicles. We expect that the average annual growth rate of market size will be around 18-20% by 2030.

From the perspective of motor classification, there are mainly four types of motors: DC, AC induction, permanent magnet synchronous and switched reluctance, and the last three types are mainly used for new energy vehicle motors.

New energy vehicle motor belongs to the category of low and medium voltage motor. Due to the particularity of its application field, compared with general low and medium voltage products, it has higher performance requirements:

1) Wide speed regulation range: New energy vehicles have two working conditions. When starting, accelerating and climbing, it is required to work within the constant torque range; At high speed, the motor is required to work in the constant power range.

2) High power density, mainly for the purpose of increasing the mileage with as little space in the car as possible and the battery capacity;

3) Safe and reliable, requiring stable operation of the motor and good anti-seismic and heat dissipation performance;

4) Lightweight, that is, the motor is small and meets the requirements of vehicle lightweight;

5) Strong overload capacity: The motor is required to have 4-5 times of overload capacity under starting, accelerating and climbing conditions.
